Tahoe

We had a blast in Tahoe hanging out with our friends the Jacoby's.  Johnny, Caroline and Ben had a blast skiing the slopes of North Star.  Josie had fun discovering snow for the first time.  She was a little uncertain about sledding unlike her big brother who wanted the slopes to be steeper and the sleds to be faster.

Happy Valentines Day 2008

Valentines day is fast approaching. The love between Johnny and Josie is growing everyday. Johnny is learning to be very patient with his sisters curiosity at everything that he does. He is also great at sharing his toys with her...much to her delight. They both love to play with each other toys...one minute it is doll and Barbie's the next it is pirate ships, tonka toys, and Hot Wheels. It is such a joy to see the love that they have for each other. Josie has just learned to blow kissess and her favorite person to blow them to is her big bro John-John.

Fall 2007

We have had a busy year!!! And I have not kep my News Years resolution from two years ago to keep an active blog going!!!
Josie is 11 months old...we don't know where the last year went. Josie is the happiest baby...during the last year she has hardly cried. We can't imagine how we got so lucky to have such a beautiful, sweet, happy baby girl. Her first word was "Hailey" and "Hi"....she happily greests anyone and everyone with a big smile and a "Hi".
Johnny is a great big brother...he has taken on the role with much enthusiasm. He loves to give her big hugs and to go into her room in the morning and say "good morning sister". Johnny has even been sharing his coveted hot wheels collection with his little sister. Hopefully his love of sharing with his sister will continue:-)
We had a wonderful summer. A week at Wallowa Lake where Johnny waterskiied for the first time was a highlight. The weather was beautiful and lots of friends joined us for a week of fun and relaxation. While at Wallowa lake we attend the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo...it was quite the event...the highlight being watching the 3-9year olds ride the sheep...Johnny says that he will do it next year we just need to bring his bike helmet.

The Maitlands

Welcome to our families blog. We are so bad at emailing pictures and keeping our friends and family updated so we thought that this might be an easier way to let you all know what we have been up to.
This last winter and spring have been very exciting and busy. Johnny and I went to Arizona to visit Moma in Feb.. While we were there we went to San Diego and visited the San Diego Zoo...a must for everyone. We then went to Tahoe with our friends the Jacoby's and thier twins who are only two days younger then Johnny. The kids had a great time sledding and playing in the snow...and we had fun catching up with our friends. After that we were off to Sun Valley for a ton of fun withe our friends the Jame's. Johnny and Casey had a great time learning to ski...they both took a few runs on the bunny hill...thankfully there was a lot of snow making for a soft landing on each fall. Then we were off to Whistler B.C. for our friends Che and Wendi's wedding. We had a great time with all of our friends...skiing, snowboarding, going out on the town and celebrating Che and Wendi's wedding. Our next trip was to Orlando. Mait qualified for another President's Club...so we spent 5 days in Disney World. Thankfully my Mom joined us...Mait had to work most of the day so she was able to keep Johnny and I company as we discovered all of the fun things to do in DW. One of the biggest events of the spring was celebrating my Mom's 60th birthday. My sister came from Germany and my Mom flew up from AZ and we had a wonderful party for my mom and all of her friends that she had not had an opportunity to see since leaving on her big adventures 4 years ago!!!! After the party Skye, Mom, Johnny and I went on quite an adventure. We drove from my Mom' s in AZ over the border to San Felipe MX. San Felipe is in the process of being developed but is still very rustic...the place that we stayed was really nice and we had a great time swimming, reading, napping, and relaxing. In the evenings we would go into town and enjoy the fish tacos that San Felipe is famous for.
Now summer has arrived...and we are looking forward to staying close to home. We are expecting baby #2 in December and I am feeling the need to be close to home and to begin to do some nesting. Johnny and I are signed up for some music and art classes and have lots of play dates planned but other then we plan on relaxing, playing in the backyard, and going out on the boat in the evenings with Daddy, Bobi (Uncle Schauermann) and Aunite Beth. Johnny has decided that intertubing is his new sport and whenever he goes out with his Daddy all he can say is "Faster Bobi Faster". We know that the kid is a Maitland becuase he loves the water, going fast, and he has no fear.
Keep posted we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl at the end of July. We hope that the warm weather and summer sunshine find you all happy and healthy.
